Frequently Asked Questions on Battery Maintenance, Installation and Disposal

  • Rafel Power batteries are warranted against all manufacturing defects and applicable only in India.
  • The right to determine whether a Battery needs repair, rectification, warranty replacement or pro-rata discount rests with the Company.
  • The defective Battery arising out of the warranty replacement or pro-rata discount under this warranty will become the property of the company and no scrap rebate will be given for it.
  • The warranty period on the battery being replaced under warranty shall be reckoned from the despatch codes (month & year) engraved on the battery and mentioned in this warranty card & not from the date of the replacement given. Warranty will be valid from initial date of purchase. For batteries purchased on pro-rata warranty settlement discount, a fresh warranty will be applicable from the dispatch code of new battery.
  • It is condition of this warranty that the battery is returned complete with electrolyte to the Dealer/Company Service Centre from whom the battery was purchased.
  • To and fro transportation charges of battery under claim will be borne by the customer. Octroi or local taxes if any, that becomes leviable for the battery under repair or replacement shall be borne by the customer.
  • All liabilities under this warranty will cease on the transfer of the battery to any party other than original purchaser or to any inverter other than that on which the battery was originally fitted and on the expiry of the warranty period as mentioned above.
  • The sulphuric acid (electrolyte) used in this battery confirms to IS266:1993 and water to IS1069:1993.
  • The warranty of battery shall become invalid under the following conditions:
    • If the defects are due to negligent maintenance, insufficient electrolyte level, incorrect charging and filling /topping of electrolyte in the battery with other than distilled/demineralized water.
    • If the container, cover or parts are damaged due to negligent maintenance or tampering or if these are destroyed in an accident such as fire, wreckage, bulging or explosion, the warranty becomes void.
    • The terminals / poles of the battery are found damaged / rebuilt/corroded.
    • Any tampering/over-writing of Serial no./Mfg. code/Despatch code on the battery or/and on the warranty card of the battery will invalidate the warranty claim.
    • If the defects are due to faulty or spurious inverter electrical systems resulting in overcharging or insufficient charging.
    • If handling and servicing of the battery done by any unauthorised person.
    • If the battery found in deep discharged / bulged /burst/ sulfated cells/dry running condition due to improper usage.
  • Recharging is not covered under the purview of this warranty and will be charged extra.
  • Battery used for any other application, other than specified ones would not carry warranty.
  • Disputes, if any, related to battery sale, performance or any other purpose related to battery are subject to jurisdiction of courts of Delhi only.
  • Customers are deemed to have read, understood and agreed to these conditions at the time of purchase.
  • This warranty shall not cover any consequential or resulting liability, damage or loss to property or life arising directly or indirectly out of any defectin the battery.
  • This warranty is valid in India only.
